Labor Day Weekend in Virginia Beach & Williamsburg

Labor Day marks the end of the summer season at the shore. It is also meant to celebrate the hard work of people all year long. The event is often marked by celebrations with fireworks, barbecues and other festive activities. If you are looking for a little fun this Labor Day weekend check out what’s going on at Virginia Beach and Williamsburg.

American Music Festival Presented by Chevrolet
This event is held Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Labor day weekend. It is one of the largest outdoor music festivals on the East Coast. The event brings together local, regional and national acts to play on a gigantic stage that is erected on the beach at 5th street. There are also stages in all the parks along the boardwalk. Ticket buyers can purchase tickets for individual days or they can buy a three-day pass.

Virginia Beach Health and Fitness Expo
This event is held Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend. There will be over 60 exhibitors. Participants can get free samples and look at the latest running gear and sports apparel and gear. The event is free. It will be held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.

Rock and Roll Running Festival
This event encompasses two days of running. Saturday will be a mile o the sand and Sunday will be a half marathon and 5k. Saturday starts at 8am. Sunday starts at 7am. There will be high energy music on the course.

Come Let’s Dance
Enjoy an evening of Colonial dance. The event starts at 7pm and runs to 8pm. Tickets are required. The event is located at the Governor’s Palace. Participants watch as actors in full dress participate in a Colonial dance. Some visitors may even be selected to participate.

Breakfast in America
This event takes place on September 6th from 7am to 1pm. Tickets cost $20.95 for adults and $10.95 for children. Visitors enjoy a true American Breakfast.
